- Well I have a different opinion at least regarding the
- external Sportster 33.6 version that I have bought. I can not get it to
- work properly under WIN95, DOS or OS/2 Warp. The modem will not
- consistently receive the init command of AT&F when I start up the
- communication program and I found out that I have to power off the
- modem and back on again in order for it to return an OK after I issue
- the AT&F command. Also when I dial any of my BBSs etc I connect but
- either receive nothing back from the remote computer or I get a couple
- of high ascii characters. The strangest thing is that if I disconnect
- the cable and connect it to a ZyXel OMNI 28.8 the modem connects fine!
-
- Also USR support via email or their Compuserve forum is non-existent!
- They still have a canned email response saying that they are back logged
- due to the holidays! WHat holidays Christmas and New Years was almost a
- month ago!
